1 cup oats
1 1/4 cups milk or water
Dash of salt
PurDate sugar (sprinkle on top)
Chopped dates (Optional)
Fresh chopped fruit (Optional)
Cinnamon (To your liking - Optional)
Cook 1 cup of oats according to package or 1 cup rolled oats with 2 cups of water or milk and a dash of salt on the stove until oats are soft but not mushy. Always keep the 1:2 ratio oats/water unless using quick cooking oats. Add more liquid as needed until oats are cooked through.
Sprinkle with date sugar and nuts. Chopped dates and fresh fruit make delicious toppings!
If you want a sweeter oatmeal add the sugar in while cooking on the stove.
