This chocolate frosting recipe adds the perfect touch to your cake recipe. Even better... it is actually loaded with nutrients! PurDate date sugar is filled with fiber, pottasium, magnesium, and so much more and won't leave you with that unwanted sugar crash.
2 cups PurDate sugar or powder
1/8 tsp salt
1/2 to 1 cup milk of your choice or water (use more as needed)
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 cup sour cream (optional)
35 grams of butter (optional)
1/4 cup cocoa powder (optional)
Sift date sugar through a fine sieve and whisk sugar and salt and cocoa powder together (if wanting a chocolate frosting) in a large mixing bowl.
Slowly add milk while blending with a mixer. Add vanilla. Blend with a mixer on medium speed until it is the desired consistency.
If you want a smooth texture, add ¼ cup sour cream
Buttercream Frosting - Add butter (~ 2 tbsp) to your liking for a fluffier buttercream frosting
Cream Cheese Frosting - Add cream cheese (110 grams per 2 cup PurDate sugar)
Chocolate Frosting - Add ¼ cup cocoa for chocolate frosting
