-
2 tsp mild chili powder
-
1/2 tsp to 2 tsp smoked paprika (depending on your preference)
-
pinch of cloves
-
14.5 ounce can diced fire roasted tomatoes
-
1/2 cup water
-
1/8 cup apple cider vinegar
-
1/4 cup date syrup or honey
-
1/2 cup PurDate sugar
-
1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
-
salt & pepper to taste
Directions
In a small saucepan combine the minced garlic cloves, tomato paste, chili powder, paprika, and cloves. Cook on medium heat for 3 minutes. Stir constantly.
Add the remaining ingredients with the exception of the salt and pepper. After the mixture is brought to a boil, reduce the heat to a simmer and cook covered for 30 minutes. Be sure to monitor the sauce and stir occasionally.
